Simon J. H. Bakker, age 76, passed away July 26, 1996 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born January 24, 1920 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Married Tony Hogendyk, July 10, 1946 in Amsterdam, Holland. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Simon was a dedicated husband and father, who enjoyed spending time with his family. Some of his favorite pastimes was camping with his family and helping his sons in the scouting program. He was a temple worker for 14 years. Retired after 20 years of service with Galigher Mining Co.
Survived by his wife; son, Henry (Marcy); daughter, Kimberly (Scott) Royce; seven grandchildren and brother, John (Vera). Preceded in death by parents, and son, Wilford.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 30, at 12 noon at the Southgate Ward, 2702 So. Main St. Family and friends may call Monday 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 So. Redwood Rd. and one hour prior to services at the ward. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
