ROBERTS, William Ralph, 84, husband of Luella Smith Roberts, died Tues., Dec. 14, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital. Born in Louisville, KY, he was the son of the late Clarence Brent Roberts and Lottie Berry Roberts. Mr. Roberts was a World War II and Korea Marine Sergeant and a member of the Marine Corp. band as well as a pistol marksman. During World World II he was a chief cook stationed at both Quantico, VA and Recife, Brazil. While serving in the Korean conflict, Mr. Roberts was a dispersing chief stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. After serving in the military, he received his BS in Commerce from the University of Kentucky. Mr. Roberts held a variety of administrative, accounting, and finance positions with Realty Mortgage Co., The Kissell Co., and the Kentucky Department of Highways. He retired from Silver's Enterprise, Inc. as VP of Finance and Treasurer. Since his retirement, he provided accounting services for several small businesses in the Lexington area. In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughter, Rebecca "Becki" Roberts Owens and her husband, Charles "Chip" of Richmond, KY; his grandson, Michael Brent Stacy; and two step grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Fri. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road by Rev. Gene Strange with burial to follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm Thurs. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Marine Corp.
