Son of John and Susannah Ramsour. He and Tom Galloway drove a team to Kansas. He married Margaret Ann Warlick,daughter of Peter Warlick.
The family came to Kansas in 1872 and purchased 160 acres of land near [Briggs]. He gave the land for Briggs Cemetery and his remaining land bordered it.
His children were:Luther A. Ramsour 1849-1917; Mary Caroline Ramsour Schellner 1851-1916; Charles Ramsour 1853-1854; Albert Edgar Ramsour 1855-1916; Robert Ramsour 1858-1858, Katherine Elizabeth Ramsour Burr 1862-1888; John Crittendon Ramsour 1864-1923; Vardry McBee Ramsour 1866-1942.
