Edith Wanda Hedrick, 73, of Dry Fork, died Friday at 7:12 p.m. in the Davis Memorial Hospital, Elkins, where he had been a patient for the past nine days.

She was born March 9, 1921, at Whitmer, a daughter of the late George and Bertha Simmons Hedrick.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Rosalie) Judy Hornick, Elkins and Mrs. James L. (Anna Ruth) Zirkle, Mabie; five sons, Otis Daniel "Bill" Pennington Jr., Whitmer, Richard Burley Pennington, Belington, Thurman Melvin Hedrick, Wheeling, and Roger Everett Hedrick and Wayne Louis Hedrick, both of Buckhannon; one sister, Gatha Alene Hedrick, Elkins; 22 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Debra Elaine Hornick; and seven sisters and five brothers.

Edith attended the schools of Randolph County, was a homemaker and a Protestant by faith.

Friends may call at the F.E. Runner Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Tuesday.

On Wednesday, she will be moved to the Dry Fork Assembly of God Church where friends may call from 1-2 p.m., the funeral hour.

The Rev. Robert Wardel, pastor of the church, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the D.B. Harper Cemetery at Dry Fork.
