Berdell Lula Cabe was born in Sylva, N.C. Daughter of William M. and Anna Elizabeth Blackwell Cabe. Her family moved to Greenville, S.C. sometime before 1920 where she met her husband William. They moved to Upper Greenville County and had 12 children.
Survived by her husband; nine daughters, Mrs Grace McCoig, and Mrs.Viola Hightower, Greenville; Mrs. Pauline Bowers, Misses Leila, Juanita, Hazel, Joyce, and Carolyn Emory all of Tigerville; Mrs. Jessie Horton, Fountain Inn; 2 sons J.R. and David Emory, Tigerville; two brothers, Andy Cabe, Johnson City, Tenn; and Fred Cabe; three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Singletary, Mrs. Ruby Bryson, and Mrs. Eula O'Sheilds, and her grandmother, Mrs. Ida Cabe, all of Gastonia, N.C.
She was predeceased by a son Grady L. "Bud" Emory killed in Germany in World War II in 1945, and her father William M. Cabe 1946.
