At her request no services will be held for Jean Fries, 78, of Carnation. Jean passed away at home on Thursday, July 20, 2000.

Jean was born on May 13, 1922 in Arlington, California, the daughter of Samuel and Villa Skeen. She was raised in Riverside, California. Mrs. Fries received an accounting degree from Anchorage Community College and attended Lake Washington Voc-Technical School in computer technology. She moved to this area in 1974. Mrs. Fries worked as the baker for Silver Spoon restaurant in Duvall from 1974 to 1977 and then as the accountant for Heat Transfer in Carnation prior to her retirement. She had a special heart for seniors and served as program director for the Carnation Senior Center. Her family stated that she was a very compassionate and caring person. In her leisure time Jean enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Jean is survived by her daughters Ronnie Bowlan, of Carnation, and Janet Fries, of Duvall; one brother L.F. �Bud� Johnstone, of LaPine, Oregon; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Lenn Fries, and three brothers, Donald, Richard and Arthur Skeen.
