She was born Oct. 6, 1933, at Brooks Hill, a daughter of the late James Arthur Coe and Lydia Samples Coe.
She was united in marriage on June 20, 1955, to Darrel Elbridge Bean, who preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 2008.
Also deceased is a sister, Isabel Kerns; and brother, Daniel Coe.
Ina Maye is survived by two brothers, James Coe and wife, Gayle, of Aliquippa, Pa., and Larry Coe and wife, Mary, of French Creek and several nieces and nephews.
During her life, Ina Maye had been a secretary for West Virginia Wesleyan College, Clow, West Virginia University Upshur County Extension Service and had retired from the Upshur County Board of Education. She was a member and secretary at the First Baptist Church. Ina Maye was a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 18, Red Hats Association, Upshur County Association of Retired Employees and was a volunteer with Upshur County Historical Society.
She was know as the "Purple Lady" as she always wore something purple. She enjoyed dressing old dolls in newly made clothes.
The family received friends Thursday a Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel in Buckhannon, where services will be conducted today at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Upshur County Memorial Park in Tennerton. The Eastern Star conducted its funeral service Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Buckhannon. Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel of Buckhannon is in charge of the arrangements.
