The body of Donald Montgomery, of Milwaukee, Wisc.,formerly of Davenport, who died Wednesday in the Danish American Hospital, Chicago, of injuries suffered when struck by a train, arrived in Davenport early Thursday and was taken to the Runge Mortuary pending burial arrangements. He was 24 years of age.

Details of the accident are lacking, but it was reported that Montgomery, employed by the Milwaukee Railway as a signal man,, was struck by a switch engine Tuesday night in the Chicago yards. His right arm was amputated in an effort to save his life.

Montgomery resided in Davenport with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Montgomery, 1717 Fillmore Lane, until a year ago. He had been employed by the railway for 5 years.

A brother, Milton, former Davenport High School athlete, is a pitcher for Albuquerque,N. M.,in the West Texas-New Mexico professional baseball league.

Born in Green Island, Iowa, June 27, 1917, Montgomery was educated in schools at Bellevue, Iowa. He lived in Milwaukee since his marriage to Ethel Scherz Sept. 21, 1940, in Davenport.

Besides his parents and brother he is survived by his wife, a sister, Betty Jane, Davenport and Paternal Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Montgomery, Green Island.
