Phenix City, AL- Pearl Calhoun, 83, of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday, January 27, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm EST Monday at Vance Memorial Chapel, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Brad McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Calhoun was born March 25, 1928 in Pike County, AL daughter of the late Rufus E. Lee and Lizzie Boutwell Lee. She worked for many years in the Textile Industry and finished her career at Fieldcrest Mills. Mrs. Calhoun loved fishing and being a witness for the Lord. She was also a member of New Beginnings Fellowship in Phenix City, AL. Mrs. Calhoun was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, whose memory will be cherished by all of her family and friends.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Hubert G. May and Rudolph Calhoun; five sisters and two brothers.
Mrs. Calhoun is survived by one daughter, Shirley Brooker and husband Butch of Phenix City, AL; two sons, Doug Mays and wife Margaret of Phenix City, AL and Don Mays and wife Linda of Montgomery, AL; eight grandchildren, Theresa, Shannon, Travis, Katina, Donna, Stacey, Kimberly and Matthew; fifteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and many other loving family members.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to your favorite charity in memory of Pearl Calhoun.
