He graduated from Albany High School and was a veteran of World War II.
Mr. Bennett was a member of American Legion Post 167 of Albany and the Fisher Body Sympathy Club. He had worked for 30 years as a tool and die maker, retiring in 1986. Survivors include his wife, Iris; a son, Alan, Muncie; a daughter, Cheryl Gray, Muncie; a sister, Elaine Bennett, Washington, DC; and two grandchildren, Teresa and Jeffery Brown, both of Albany.
A son, Jeffrey, died in 1971.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Parson-Rust Funeral Home, Albany. Burial will be in Strong Cemetery, Albany. Calling at the funeral home will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday.
