Henry W. Arnel, 88, of Palmsdale, Calif., a former Jefferson City resident, died Sunday at Lancaster, Calif.

Mr. Arnel was born Feb 10, 1886, the son of James L. and Elizabeth Wood Arnel. In 1969 he married the former Willa Holly, who survives.

He lived in Jefferson City from 1910 to 1947.

Other survivors include: Three sons, Leonard Arnel, St. Louis, Loyd Arnel, Lancaster, Calif., Floyd Arnel, Manpeca, Calif.

Five daughters, Mrs. Lela McCrory, Iberia, Mrs. Ruby Meseberg, Culver, Ind., Mrs. Ruth Nelson, Lynwood, Calif. and Mrs. Ada Darby and Mrs. Mabel Haniford, both of Palmsdale, Calif.

Two sisters, Mrs. Mentyle Young, Mojave, Calif., Mrs. Minnie Porter, Eldon; three brothers, Sterling Arnel, Stover, Tolbert Arnel, Independence and Basil Arnel, Great Bend, Kans.; and 35 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church near Eldon with the Rev. Logan Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Toll Wood Cemetery.
