Dr. Frederick Cunningham Gray was oldest child of TJ Gray & Dorcas Cunningham; sisters incl Mary (d. age 7) & Ann Lucinda Gray Red (4/13/1831-11/1/1897, Indianola, Miss.).

Jeff Gray and his children migrated to Miss. by 1840, after death of Dr. FCG's mother. There was migration of many descendants of Rev. War Capt. Frederick Gray from SC to Miss. in the 1830's & 40's. There's also a connection between Gray, Potts & Howard families in both Miss. & La.

FCG m. 3/12/1856 Bienville Parish, Florence Amanda Potts, dau. of William Potts & Rebecca Ann Howard. Washington R. Gray (name of FCG's uncle, who migrated to Winston Co. 1835-39 & La aft 1850) is bd Potts Cemetery in Bienville Parish, where Florence’s parents are bd, as is a John C. Gray (name of FCG's cousin, who was married in Bienville Parish).

FCG's cousin, Dr. John Henry Gray, migrated to Bienville Parish, where his 12/22/1853 m. to Laura Nelson Howard witnessed by T.N. Potts & Thos. Hughes Potts.

FCG's cousin, Dr. Reuben Flanagan Gray migrated to Bienville Parish, St. Landry Parish 1867, and Lake Charles 1869.

FCG's cousin Narcissa Eliza Gray m. Hugh Swinton Potts 5/10/1844, Winston Co. Her son, Hugh Swinton Potts migrated to Monroe, La. Her sis, Martha Sommer Gray m. Edward Henry Hudson. Several of Martha Hudson’s children m. Potts: Summer Aiken Hudson m. William Napoleon Potts & migrated to Monroe in 1877; Isaac Hudson m. Ann J.
