Mrs. Gross, her husband, Courtlandt Sherrington Gross, and their housekeeper were murdered in their home in Villanova, Pennsylvania. A drifter, Roger Peter Buehl, was apprehended, tried, convicted, and sentenced to death for the murders in January 1983.

The following was contributed by Ms. Clyde (thank you!):

There is an episode of “Homicide City” on Investigation Discovery (ID) channel, “Main Line Massacre” (2018) documenting their lives and murder. “When Philadelphia Mainliners Courtlandt and Alexandra Gross are found murdered in their home, detectives begin the hunt for a calculated killer, which takes them from one of the wealthiest zip codes in the country straight into the heart of Philly.”
