He was born in Olive township on July 2, 1866, the son of Martin and Anna Kilmer Loucks.
He married Mary E Wenger on April 4, 1889. She died May 27, 1932.
He leaves seven daughters and one son, Mrs Bertha Holmes, Mrs Boyd (Alice) Schriner, Oliver Loucks, Mrs Albert (Alma) Weaver and Mrs Willis (Effie) Hartman), all of this vicinity, Mrs Noble (Emma) Hoover, Mrs Joe (Nora) Gorsuch and Mrs Nelson (Cleo) Paul, all of near Goshen. A son, Oscar, died September 10, 1908, at the age of one year.
There are also 19 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs Sol Metzler, Mrs. Anna Hunsberger and Mrs David Wenger, all of this vicinity.
Mr Loucks had been a member of the Olive Mennonite church since 1889. Funeral services were held at 2 pm at the church, following the meeting at the home at 1:30. The Revs D A Yoder and Clarence Shank were in charge. Burial was in the Olive cemetery.
