James G. Baker, 68, of Shongaloo, Louisiana died Saturday, December 19, 2009 at his home. He was born April 23, 1941 in Emerson, Arkansas to the late William Doyal and Amie (Thomas) Baker and was also preceded in death by his two brothers.
James was employed with the Arizona Chemical Company and served in the United States Army in Germany during Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors are his wife, Janice Baker of Shongaloo and one sister, Margaret Wynn of Emerson.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Lewis Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Bobo officiating. Burial will follow at Western Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Springhill. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Acton, Ron Woodard, Frank Welsh, Greg Harrell, Jason Hutchinson, Fred Hutchinson, and Mark Staggs.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
