He was a native of Baxter, KY, a retired cable repair technician for South Central Bell were he worked for 40 years, a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church, The Telephone Pioneers of America, a Kentucky Colonel, he graduated from Eastern High School Class of 54 and as a child he was a resident of Spring Meadows Children Home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Aaron Harris.
He is survived by his son, Kevin C. Harris(Dawn); daughter, Karen Mingis (Steve); brothers, James , Gary , and Ronald Harrris (Karen) who took special care of him; sister. Beulah Sailing, his beloved granddaughter, Lena Mingis and a special friend, Carolyn DAntonio.
Funeral service will be held 11 am, Thursday at Owen Funeral Home Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd with burial in Russell Springs Cemetery. Visitation 2-8 pm, Wednesday.
