WHITESVILLE - Mrs. Mary J. Dempsey, 74, of Whitesville, Boone County, died Wednesday in Boone County Health Care Center, Danville, after a long illness.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Whitesville.
Surviving: daughter, Mrs. Brenda Simmons of Whitesville; sister, Mrs. Audra Allen of Whitesville; grandson, Freddie Summons, whom she raised, with the U.S. Army at Fort Riley, Kansas.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, with the Rev. W. Howard Gwinn Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Adkins Cemetery, Naoma. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
