Charley was the son of Charles Slater BRINSON & Mary J. WEATHERSBY. He married Nancy Rebecca MAY on 27 Mar 1879 in Simpson Co MS. They had ten children: Mary Jane, Amanda A, Rebecca Delilah (Lila), Charles A Jr, Wincie E, Daniel Boone, Nora A, Robert (Bob), Willie Clide/Carl & John (Doc) BRINSON.

Originally Charles BRINSON, his wife Rebecca Nancy MAY and their daughter, Wency May BRINSTON TULLOS, were buried in a small family cemetery in the Weathersby MS community on land owned by her father John MAY. Rebecca's brother Albert Fount MAY, had the Brinson family bodies exhumed and moved to the Mendenhall City Cemetery before he died in 1943. He left 1 grave of Tommy, dau of D.M. & B.D.
