Mary Jo Durham, age 89, of Asheboro died Monday, January 25, 2010 at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation, Asheboro.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Holder and Rev. George Roberson officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Durham was a native of Lee County, was employed with Randolph County working in various departments, including the Randolph County Tax Department and retired from Regional Consolidated Services. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir and played piano for several Sunday school classes. She also played piano for Asheboro Kiwanis Club and enjoyed bowling, playing bridge and shopping. Mrs. Durham was preceded in death by her husband, Waldo Browning Durham.

She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Jo Durham Rhodes and her husband Chip of Wilmington; sons, David Browning Durham and his wife Wanda of Asheboro, Mike Durham and his wife Vickie of Asheboro; grandchildren, Sherri Jones, Kelly R. Bradshaw, Thomas Rodney, Michael Durham, Zac Durham; great grandchildren, Brittany Greene, Chassidy Kelly, Kara Laceznski, Taylor, Victoria, Grant and Garrett Bradshaw; great great grandchildren, Zeblyn and Xander Kelly, Adrian Greene.
