Services for art patron tomorrow Mrs. Eva McBride passed away early Monday. She was wife of noted doctor, Dr. JH McBride, said to be critically ill

Funeral services for Mrs. Eva McBride, wife of Dr. James Harvey McBride, well known nerve specialist, will be conducted tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock at the chapel of Turner & Stevens. Dr. C. Rankin Barnes, rector of St. James Episcopal Church, South Pasadena, CA, will officiate.
Mrs. McBride, who was a painter of talent and a founder and active supporter of the Pasadena Art Institute, died unexpectedly yesterday morning at 9 o'clock at the family residence, 489 Bellefontaine St. , following a heart attack. Dr. McBride is critically ill at the home and has not been told of his wife's death for fear the shock might prove fatal, according to his son-in-law, Capt. Paul Perigord, head of the French department at UCLA. Mrs. McBride was born 66 yrs. ago in a suburb of Milwaukee, WI. Before her marriage she was Miss Eva Ackley, daughter of a NY banker.
She has lived here for yrs.(Pasadena,CA)
Dr. and Mrs. McBride have been prominent in Pasadena civic and social circles for the last 30 yrs. Dr. McBride was the founder of Las Encinas Sanitarium regarded as an outstanding institution of its' kind. Mrs. McBride was extremely active in art circles and in addition to her interest in the Pasadena Art Institute, she was a member of the CA Art Club. She was an artist of considerable note herself and exhibited in Los Angeles, San Diego, and other cities. Water color and oil both claimed her interest and some of her landscapes received recognition by art critics. She was active in the work L'Alliance Francaise. Lt. James Ackley McBride, only son of Dr. and Mrs. McBride, was killed in combat in France in WWl. Services to be simple.
Mrs. McBride leaves on daughter, Mrs. Emily Perigord, wife of Capt. Paul Perigord,and 2 grandchildren, James McBride Perigord, 5 yrs. of age and Lorraine Perigord,8. She also leaves a brother, Dr. Charles Ackley, rector of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, NYC, NY, a sister, Mrs. Anna Breck, widow of a Portland, OR Episcopal rector, a niece, Evangeline Breck, and 2 half sisters who live in NY. In compliance with Mrs. McBride's expressed wish that her service be simple, friends are requested to omit floral offerings.
