Obituary:
Funeral services for Gerald R. Fredrick, 20, of Taylor, will be held today (Thurs.) at 2 p.m. at the Taylor United Methodist church, with Rev. Richard Shapland officiating. Burial will be in Cottonwood cemetery, Burwell. Fleming Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Fredrick of Taylor, Gerald was a drowning victim Sunday at a sandpit about a mile South of Monroe. His body was recovered about 9 p.m. Sunday by Larry Froshheauser, a Colombus scuba diver.
Gerald Russell Fredrick, son of Russell and Betty Conner Fredrick was born April 9, 1950 at Burwell hospital and departed this life, August 23, near Monroe, Neb., in a drowning accident, at the age of 20 years, four months and 14 days.
He spent the first five years of his life on a farm northeast of Taylor and moved in the fall of 1955 with his parents to a farm West of Taylor, where he grew to manhood. He was baptized as a child at the Burwell Methodisat church and attended Sunday school and high school and graduated in May of 1969. He enrolled in the State Technical School at Milford in the Auto body department. He had completed one year of his study and was presently a student there.
Gary enjoyd his friends and being with people. He like to fish and hunt.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Becky Jo, and his grandmother, Ethel Fredrick.
Gary is survived by his parentsl two sisters, Vicki and Mary Lynn, both at home; his grandparents, William Fredrick of Beatrice and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Conner of Burwell; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and friends.
