Funeral Wednesday For C.H. Anderson At Alfalfa
Chas. H. Anderson, for nearly 25 years a resident of this community, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. G.T. Smith, near Alfalfa Tuesday night. Altho crippled by severe illness many years ago he maintained a cheerful disposition and did what work he could under his handicap. He spent the past winter here with his brother, J.E. Anderson, and has been down town in his wheel chair as often as his health and the weather would permit.
Funeral services were held at the Alfalfa Baptist church at 3 p.m. Wednesday and interment was made in the Alfalfa cemetery. Rev. R.K. McGregor and Rev. R.M. Templeton conducting the services.
Charles H. Anderson was born in S. Carolina Feb. 9, 1867 and died near Alfalfa Tuesday, March 17, 1931 aged 64 years, 1 month and 8 days. After leaving his native state he lived in Alabama and Texas, coming to this section of Oklahoma in 1906 where he has since made his home.
He is survived by five brothers: W.A., Jeff T., Rube T., Joe E., and M.E. Anderson and seven sisters: Mrs. G.T. Smith of Alfalfa, Mrs. A.E. Anthony, Anadarko; Mrs. M.J. Burge, Shawnee; Mrs. H.C. Burge, Batesville, Ark.; Mrs. H.L. Pritchard, Cordell; Mrs. Bob Martin, Lawton, and Mrs. J.E. Fast of this place, besides many other relatives and friends.
