Dennis C.Blair,70,of North Sioux City,S.D.,died Tuesday,Feb.10,at his residence followinf a brief illness.Services will be 10a.m.Friday at Riverside Lutheran Church,with Rev.Charles B.Wolff officiating.Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery,rural Homer,Neb.,with military rites.Dennis was born Feb.13,1933,in rural Thurston,Neb.,the son of Cloyd Allen & and his adopted father,James A. & Mary E.(Leonard)Blair.He graduated from Pender(Neb)High School.He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.He married Joan M.Pedersen on May 19,1957,in Homer,Neb.He farmed near Thurston,Neb.,until 1981.From 1982-1984,he owned and operated the Dry Dock Lounge in South Sioux City,Neb.He and his son,Doug were owners of Blair Construction Co.since 1985.He was baptist at Presbyterian Church in Pender.He was a member of Riverside Lutheran Church,The American Legion in Thursdton and the Izaak Walton League in McCook Lake,S.D.Survivors include his beloved wife Joan;son Douglas & wife Cindy of Burbank,S.D.;four daughters,Julie Cadwallader of Pender,Janet(Greg)Finzen of Sioux City,Joyce(Greg)Backman of Fremont,Neb.,Jodie (Baqrry)Saxen of Sioux Falls,S.D.;brother and wife,,Harold & Doris Blair of Norfolk,Neb.;three half brothers,Bill & Pailline Allen and Bob & Merna Allen all of Omaha,Neb.,and Donnie & Ginger Allen of Fla.;a half sister and her husband,Connie & Bob Docal of Omaha,Neb.;12 grandchildren;a great-granddaughter.He preceded in death by his parents.
