Mr. Oldfield was born in Nebraska. At the age of five, he moved with his parents and family to Washington, settling near Granger.
On Jan 2, 1918, he married Hazel Howard in Granger. They farmed in the Toppenish-Granger area.
In 1971, Mr. Oldfield and his wife moved to Kennewick. His wife Hazel, died in 1979.
Mr. Oldfield was a member of Moose Lodge 482 of Pasco.
Survivors include two sons, James Gale Oldfield of Kennewick and Ralph Oldfield of Prosser; two daughters, Mrs. Chuck (Dorothy) Sween of Marysville and Mrs. Rolly (Phyllis) Williamson of Pasco; 12 grandchildren; a large number of great-grandchildren; several great great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, son Walter, daughter Alyce, three brothers and two sisters.
