NEWTON - Arthur Martin Simmons, 90, of Newton, father of Bloomington resident Naomi Herrin, died Wednesday, Aug.26, 1987, in a Jasper nursing home.
Born Sept. 12, 1896, in Call, TX., Mr. Simmons had been an auto mechanic for Newton Motor Company before his retirement.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Smith Funeral Home in Mewton with the Rev. Paul Outlaw officiating.
Burial will follow services in Hughes Cemetery in Fawil under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Surviving, in addition to his daughter, are his wife, Bessie Simmons of Newton; another daughter, Ella Ruth Ware of Spring; a son, Titus Simmons of Grand Prarie; three sisters, five grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
