Naomi Simmons Herrin, age 80, of Wharton, Texas died on Saturday, November 1, 2003 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at 10:00 am at Bon Wier Pentecostal Church with burial to follow at Hughes Cemetery near Bon Wier. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Newton. She was a native of Blox, Texas in Jasper County, a former resident of Bon Wier and had lived in Wharton the last 10 years. Survivors include her daughter, Marsolete Patterson of Wharton, Texas, her sons, Guy Wilburn Herrin of Houston and Marshall David Herrin of Houston, 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
