OBITUARY FROM "THE SPIRIT OF JEFFERSON"

Services will be conducted this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home for Mrs. Emma Mae Boyd Griffith, 81 of 128 Augustine Avenue, Charles Towers, Charles Town, who died Monday, July 4, at the Shenandoah Nursing Home, Ranson. The Rev. Roger Henshaw will officate, burial will be in the Edge Hill Cemetery.

Born December 3, 1906, in Kabletown, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Annie Palmer Boyd.

Of the Epsicopal faith, she was retired after many years of servcie with the Byrd Packing House, Charles Town.

She is survived by her husband, Homer T. Griffith, at the home; two daughters, India Mae Long, Brunswick Md., and Yvonne M. Carper, Charles Town; three sons, Donald M. Boyd, Akron, Ohio, and Ray L. and Robert E. Boyd, both of Ranson; 18 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Lottie Anderson of Charles Town.

She was preceded in death by a son, Homer T. Griffith; by two sisters, Agnes Anderson and Elsie Sowers; and by two brothers, Charles and Raymond Boyd.
