He was a builder, of buildings, but he was a builder of character,
Honest , true , believer in hard work and hard play ! He was a giant amount men !

Heber Eugene Ridd , 86 , beloved husband ,father, grandfather and great grandfather and brother passed away January 30, 1986 in LasVegas Nevada in a auto pedestrian accident .
Born January 23, 1900 to Heber Chase and Lucinda Ann Miller Ridd. Married Etta Day, July 15, 1920 later solemnized in Logan ,L.D.S. Temple.Member LDS church, High Priest Holladay 11th Ward. builder, Developer, Engineer and Land Surveyor.Schooled in Granite District High School, U.S.A.C. And U of U and I.C.S.. His special interests were travel, fishing,hunting,swimming, and music. Took pride in his family and enjoyed with them reflecting on good times and memories. A man of highest personnal integrity , hard work, and responsibility . An excellent provider and teacher.
Survived by his wife, eight children, Leon, Mrs Roln C. Christensen ( Floretta), r. Duane, and Merriell K all of Salt Lake, Lamar and Dale of Sandy, Gordon Lynn and Mrs James(LaVelle ) Moss, Orem preceded in death by son Donald and two brothers Glenn and George. Also survived by
3 sisters Mrs Lee ( Eliza, Lida) Egbert, mrs Curtis Rita Player, Mrs William ( Mabel) Peterson. All Salt Lake City. 43 grandchildren 68 great grandchildren.




Hurt also in the accident was his little wife Etta who he tossed to safety before taking the hit from the car. His heart kept beating until they were safely in the emergency vehicle and he knew that she was being taken care of. She shared with me later that on the trip down, he had thanked her for all the years they had been together , for all the good times and bad.
What a good wife she had been to him, wonderful support of him and his efforts not only to provide for their family but also his brothers and sisters after his parents died. He told her what a good mother and grandmother she was and how much he really loved her. She cherished this talk and drew strentgh from it as she went on alone. What a wonderful life they had.
