A. B. FORMAN PASSED AWAY MONDAY
Early Monday morning Aaron Burroughs Forman of this city suffered a stroke of apoplexy of the brain and remained in an unconscious condition until his death Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mr. Forman had been in poor health for some time, suffering with Bright's disease, but was feeling no worse than usual Monday morning when he arose and went to the kitchen to make a fire. While making the fire he fell from the attack and after calling his wife he became unconscious.
The deceased was born in Hannibal, Mo., August 3, 1840, and was 76 years, 9 months and 16 old at at the time of his death. He was a son of Benjamin Forman and was the last of a lamily of eleven children to pass away. Mr. Forman came to Shelby county when only about six years old and has since lived within its border. His first location in Shelby was near Cherry Box where he grew to young manhood. At the outbreak of the Civil war he joined the Union army and served three years in the Third Mo. Calvary. Mr. Forman was a man who possessed a great memory of past happenings and it was interesting to hear him relate the trying conditions during the war and the pioreer days.
In the year 1865 Mr. Forman was united in marriage to Miss Martha Copenhaver and since that time they had been residents of Shelbyville. Mr. and Mrs. Forman celebrated their 53nd wedding anniversary March 16 last, a privilege very few have the opportunity to enjoy. To this union were born two sons and five daughters, all of whom with the widow survive. The children are J. M. Forman, Mesdames F. L. Jamison, R. E. Marshall, P. E. Sanders and E. M. Damrell or (sic) this city, Mrs. E. J. Beaulier of Detroit, Mich., and M. L. Forman of Salt Lake City, all of whom have the sincere sympathy of the many friends who knew the deceased so well and will miss his familiar figure.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon, Wednesday, 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church in this city, of which he had been a member for the past thirty years. The services will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. E. Bostwick, assisted by Rev. W. C. Maggart. Interment in the I. O. O. F. cemetery.
