Leroy Langdon Richardson III
66, husband of Janice "Faye" Day Richardson, passed away Wed, Nov 25, 2009. Born in Barbourville, KY, he was a son of the late Leroy and Mary Pat Jones Richardson II. A graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, he was retired from the LFUCG Police Department after serving with honor and integrity for 34 years. He was a member of the FOP, Firefighters Association and was a member of the US Army Reserves.
In addition to his wife of 42 years, he is survived by his children, Sherry (Jay) Postlewaite, Mary (Nate) Vanderhoof and Leroy "Buddy" Langdon (Stacey) Richardson IV, all of Lexington; siblings, Boyd Richardson, Barbourville, KY and Mary Frances Richardson, St. Catherine's, Ontario, Canada; as well as seven wonderful grandchildren. He is also survived by many other special family members and loyal friends.
Services will be 1 PM Mon at Milward-Southland. Burial will follow at the Lexington Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Nate Vanderhoof, Jay Postlewaite, Brent Kerr, Mark Miley, Jerry McIntyre, and Robbie McCord. Honorary bearers will be Farley Spencer and Ellen Sam. Visitation will be 3-6 PM Sun. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
