Joseph lived in Hellam in 1800. On 8 May 1800, he patented 278 acres at Tyrone Twp., Fayette Co. He left this land to his son Samuel. Joseph's will made Christian Hershey and Benjamin Miller, both of Donegal, his administers. His administers sold the land in Tyrone on 27 Aug 1816 to Henry Strickler of Tyrone. He was fined for failure to bear arms.
