M. C. (Uncle Mack) Slay, born March 31, 1867, died December 9, 1940, at his home near Havana. Joined the Methodist church at an early age, lived a good Christian life and was loved by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his going, his wife, Mrs. Jane Slay, four children, Rose, Portersille, Calif., Mrs. John Jackson, Texas, Walter, Havana, Mrs. Dewey Brasier, Fairfax, Oklahoma, three brothers, Edd and F. M., Havana, and Walter, Heavener, Oklahoma, one sister, Mrs. Ira Walker, Havana.
Burial was in Moore's Chapel cemetery. Funeral services held by Rev. W. L. Russell, Bellville.
