He was a prolific actor best known for playing the character roles of barflies, hot dog vendors, henchmen, taxi drivers, valets, dandys, military men, clerks, jurors, gamblers, customers, train conductors, and criminals named Shorty, Weasel, Slug, Fink, and Lefty, etc., in crime, action, and western films of the 1930s and 1940s. He was at one time considered one of the busiest actors in Hollywood, California. He will be best remembered for playing the role of 'Andy Kent' in the classic western film, "Galloping Romeo" (1933). During his acting career, he also used the name of Ernest Adams and Ernie S. Adams. He passed away from acute pulmonary edema in Hollywood, California, on November 26, 1947, at the age of 62, and he was buried in Valhalla Memorial Park in North Hollywood, California. He was married to Berdonna Weinberg Adams (1890-1961), with whom he was part of the vaudeville act, "Gilbert and Adams," and the couple had a child, a daughter. Berdonna survived her husband and she passed away in Hollywood, California, on February 12, 1961, at the age of 70, and she is buried with him at Valhalla Memorial Park in North Hollywood, California. He was also previously married to Mamie Silver Adams, Margaret Adams, and Shirley Laurette Adams.
