MRS LINUS W. TOWSLEE
POWNAL - Funeral services for Mrs. Grace E. Towslee, 79, widow of Linus W. Towslee, a long-time resident here, will be held from Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home Thursday at 2:30 pm with the Rev. John C. Hatch, pastor of the North Pownal Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Bennington.
Mrs. Towslee died Tuesday at North Adams Hospital following a long illness.
She was born in Pownal April 6, 1882, daughter of William and Sarah Montgomery. She was educated in Pownal schools and was married to Mr. Towslee, longtime Pownal farmer, in 1902. He died in 1956.
Survivors are three sons, Joseph of Bennington, Byron of North Pownal and Fred Towslee of Albany, N.Y.; one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Hazel) Zagata of Bennington; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the funeral home in Bennington today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
