Mary Elizabeth McNeely, 88, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Rolling Meadows Healthcare Center in LaFontaine. She was born June 10, 1923 in Wabash, to Thomas and Bertha (Kelsey) Dunphy.
Mary married George McNeely in Marion, Indiana, on November 28, 1945; he died April 12, 1981.
She was a beautician and owned Mary Mac's Beauty Shop several years. She was a member of the Wabash Friends Church and the Womens Clubhouse Association. She enjoyed taking care of children.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Chris) Niccum; two granddaughters, Amy (Clark Wendt) Lengel and Abby (Mic) Gatchel; and two greatgrandchildren, Michael Lengel and Ashley Lengel, all of Wabash. She was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with David Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Preferred memorial is New Hope Hospice, Marion.
