Katherine Brandau Lynne

Funeral for Katherine Brandau Lynne, 83, of Mountain Brook, wife of Decatur native and U.S. District Judge Seybourn Harris Lynne, was to be today at Ridouts Valley Chapel in Homewood with the Rev. Jim Moebes officiating.

A graveside service will be Friday at noon at Decatur City Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Lynne died Tuesday, March 11, 1997, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham. She was born March 10, 1914, in Knoxville to Henry Chambley and Lucy Donaldson Brandau. She retained her membership at First Presbyterian Church in Knoxville, but also was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Birmingham and the Katherine Marbury Sunday School Class. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, she was a member of Chi Omega sorority and the Birmingham Country Club.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, who is the longest serving federal judge in the nation, and by one sister, Virginia Ridley of Memphis.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
