Mary Boyette Mercier, 82, of Lynchburg, formerly of Smyrna, GA, died Sunday, March 13, 2005. She was the wife of the late Roy H. Mercier for 20 years. Mrs. Mercier was born November 24, 1922, in Lakeland, GA, a daughter of the late Grover G. Boyette and Hattie Deen Boyette. She worked for Allstate Insurance for 28 years. She is survived by a sister, Ruth Markham and husband Dillard of Lynchburg; a brother, Hansel Boyette and wife Connie of Lakeland, GA; one niece and six nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 17, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. at Tharp Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. William H. Vest officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 504 Pauline Street, Ray City, GA 31645.
