Lillian Ruth Cox age 92, a lifelong Fayette County resident passed away Friday December 23, 2011 at the Lincoln Centers while surrounded by her family.

She was born February 12, 1919 in Fayette County the daughter of the late LeRoy and Nellie Revalee Hartman.

She attended the Swamps School, Bunker Hill and Glenwood Schools and is a member of the Glenwood United Methodist Church. Lillian was a member of the West Connersville Extension Homemakers Club and throughout the years exhibited many items at the Fayette County Free Fair. She was a seamstress and won champion ribbons on a dress made and modeled at the State Fair.

She had been a teacher aide at the Orange Elementary School but her primary job was supporting her husband and family in the operation of the family farm.

Lillian enjoyed watching and feeding birds and for many years she loved to spend her mornings with her friends of the 'breakfast club.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law Linda and David Dungan of Connersville; two sons and daughters in law, Ronald E. & Nilah Cox, Connersville and David E. & Vickie Cox, Connersville; She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and spouses, Vicki & Joe Salyer, New Castle; Beth & Don Foreman, Connersville; Richard Dungan, Rushville; Jeffrey & Anna Dungan, Connersville; Paula & Jim Free, Connersville; Darrell & Kim Cox, Glenwood; Jenny & Duane Cox, Connersville; Devin & Christy Cox, Glenwood; Mark & Tonya Cox, Connersville; Bryan & Kelly Cox, Carmel; and Steve & Laura Cox, Marysvile, OH; 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Lillian is preceded in death by her husband Earnest W. Cox to whom she was married Feb 23, 1935. He passed away on April 7, 2006. She is also preceded in death by a brother Lloyd Hartman.

Funeral services for Lillian Cox will be conducted at 2pm on Wednesday December 28, 2011 at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home with David Stephens and Phil Mitchell officiating.

Burial will be in Dale Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 5 to 8 pm. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home to the Glenwood United Methodist Church.
