Ella was the daughter of James S. Crawford and Louisa Jane Smith, 9th born of 11 children. She married Bert Elvin Manges in July 1906 and they had 2 sons, Emmett and Elvin. Bert died after they had only been married for 4 years. She married William Turner on 19 Nov 1914 and had her only other child, Ruth Catherine in Feb 1916.
