Joe Binfet, was the son of Kasper Binfet and Otille Deis,from Onaka,South Dakota. Joseph died at the Veternas Hospital in Fargo, ND. on Sept 11, 1944 after sevearl weeks of illness brought on by an ailment from which he had suffered for some time. Many firiends and relatives paid their last respects to the young veteran who had many friends in the county. He is survied by his parents, his widow, Anna Baer Binfet and a samll daughter, JoAnn, two and a half years old. He also leaves six brohter; Peter, Jake and Geroge of Aberdeen; Clem, Martin and Wendelin of Oanka, three sister; Mrs. P Tuescher, Mrs Percy Ryman Jr, and Mrs. Ralph Malsom, all of Onaka. Military honors were given the deceased by the Onaka American Legion of which Joseph was a member. The following comrades taking part , Chaplain, Matt Dies; bugler, John Deis, color comander, Snap Glanzman; color bearers, Pius Wehrllingar and Jake Fix; color guards, John Mardian and Vern Hepper; firing squad commander A schmidt; member of the firing squad, Albert and Eddie Gisi, Louis and Celestine Brondeau, Mike Goetz and Frank Fix. Pall bearers were Percy Ryman, Walter Binfet, Sig Goetz, Al Gabriel, C. Roesch and John Malsom.
The community extends its sympathy to the bereaved widow, daughter and other member of the family.
