George D. Hudson (1807 1876) was born in Clay Township, PA in 1807. George was
educated in public schools, and then farmed until 1850, when he began a hotel
business at Three Springs, the only hotel of its kind in the area. He worked
there the rest of his life. His first wife was Margaret Mathias, who died in
1832, after having a daughter, Harriet. Then he married Ruth Chilcott (1811,
born in Trough Creek Valley died Aug 25, 1903. She remarried after George
died). With her had nine more children:
1. Dianna (1833 1912). Married Darius G. Doyle.
2. Ruhana 1834 Jan 12, 1902). Married George Heeter. Son Edward
3. Rachel E. (1835 1901). Married Samuel L. Heeter.
4. William C. (1838 1916),
5. Ephraim A. 1842 - 1909;
6. Emeline 1844 - 1844, Infant;
7. Richard W. (1845 1911);
8. Millard F., (1848 - ?) a medical doctor, of Osborn City, KS.
9. Alvaretta J. (1850 -?) married #1 Samuel Andrews. Married #2 Abraham Wagner.
