He married Annie on Oct. 1, 1885 in Lawrenceville, Va. He enlisted in Confederate services for State duty April 8, 1861 and was mustered into service on May 23, 1861. He was wounded at Gettysburg and left behind as reported on the muster roll of Sept. 1863. June 1, 1864 he was exchanged to Palmetto Battery, Haskell's Battalion of Field Art., surrendered at Appomattox on April 9, 1865.
