Services for Royce Calvin "Peanut" Parrish, 78, of Colbert, who passed away Thursday November 30, 2006 at home with family at his side will be held at the Colbert United Methodist Church Saturday 10 a.m. with Bill Brown officiating.
Peanut was born August 4, 1928 in Post, Texas, the son of Frazier and Margaret (Everett) Parrish. He married Emma Jean Brown January 11, 1946 in Denison, Texas. He spent most of his life in Colbert. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed hunting and spending summers at his cabin in the Kiamichi Mountains.
Survivors include his wife of the home; children Beverly McDonald and husband Jimmy of Bonham, Texas, Sharon Wilson of Colbert, Susan Bartley and husband Jerry of Denison, Texas, Cindy Riggs and husband Charles of Colbert; grandchildren Terry, Paul, Michael and Chris McDonald of Bonham, Texas, Kimberly Merck, Stacey Gibby, Tiffany Pluckett and Jennifer Florendo of Colbert, Jerry Ross and Jefferey Bartley of Denison, Texas, Mellisa, Dinah, Michelle, Margaret and Calvin Parrish of Sherman, Texas, Tina Todd of Sherman, Texas and Tammy Lewis of Corpus Christi, Texas; 36 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; brother Richard Parrish of Colbert; sisters Pat Reeves of Brewton, Alabama, Alice Clack of Gainesville, Texas and Bonnie Keeth of Antlers, Oklahoma.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sons Eddie Lynn and Leslie Parrish, son-in-law Paul Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Joey Weger, Donald Bartley, Bobby Brown, Ray Pluckett, Johnny Brown and John Bowles.
