Obit sent by Catherine Briggs: MESICK -- Grant L. Crowell of Mesick, died Monday, Oct. 15, 1990 in Munson Medical Center after an illness of six months. He was 87. Mr. Crowell was born Nov. 15, 1902 in Harlan, Mich. He had lived his lifetime in the Mesick area. He was a fur trapper and farmer and operated a saw mill. He was a milk inspector for the State of Michigan. He drove a school bus for the Mesick school. He was also a star basketball player in Mesick High School. He owned and operated the Rainbow Cabins and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by one niece, Mary (Mrs. Alton) Ball of LaPine, Oregon; and one nephew, Charles Jones of Arizona. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday in the Mesick United Methodist Church, the Rev. Tom Fox officiating. Burial will be in the Family cemetery in Harlan. Memorial tributes may be made to the Mesick Rescue Squad. Envelopes are available in the King Funeral Home in Mesick.Cremation-interred 12-23-2002
