IN MEMORY OF MRS. SALLIE SHEARER. On the days of September 27th 1933, late in the afternoon, God saw fit to take Mrs. Sallie Shearer, dear wife and mother, home to dwell with the angels above. Mother was noble and kindhearted, and was loved by all who knew her. She joined the Landmark Baptist church in early life; later moved her membership to the Primitive Baptist church, where she remained until the death angel claimed her for its victim. She leaves to mourn her going a husband and three daughters, Saleta, Nora and Dora; two sons, Johnnie and Henry.

Our home seems wrecked without her, but we realize that God needed her or else he would have left her with us and it seems that he always takes the best away; but she has gone to realms above.

Question came up to whether the parent's attached were hers. They are. Sallie's parents are correct and so is her sister, Florence's. These two daughter's headstone birth dates are within 9 months of each other. The mother's obituary states that her daughter, Mrs. Sidney Shearer preceded her in death by one week. The obituary for Florence says she was 100 so her birth year would have been 1880 not 1882.

1900 census has Sallie's birth date as Mar 1882 and her headstone has 7 Mar 1882.
