William Henry Hart was born in Riversdale, Greenock Twp., Bruce, Ontario, Canada, the oldest of three children born to John A. Hart (1843-1899) and Sarah Robinson (1856-1934). John was born in either England or Northumberland, Ontario, Canada and Sarah was born in Normanby, Grey Co., Ontario, Canada. John and Sarah emigrated emigrated from the Bruce Peninsula of Ontario between June 1878-1880 and settled in DeTour Village, Chippewa, MI, when William was between 2-4 years old.

2) George Isaac Hart Sr. (b. 19 Jun 1880, Chippewa, MI: d. after 1940, prob. Chippewa, MI) m. cousin Sarah Jane Hart (9 ch.)
William married Nellie Harriett (she was born Nellie Harriet but went by Lillian) Stratton (b. 21 May 1881, Ann Arbor, Washtenaw, MI, a twin to William A.). Lillie's parents died when she was young (father John W. Stratton in 1885; mother Jane Graham, Kitson Stratton, unknown). Lillie and her twin brother, the only remaining children of John & Jane that we are able to find, were taken to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan by their grandmother, Harriet (Smith, Stratton) Van Valkenburg. William and Lillian's wedding occurred just six months prior to John Hart's death in September 1899.
William and Lillian had 11 children:

William farmed and did carpentry work in the Pickford area. According to "A History of Pickford Area Pioneer Families," pub. 1973, William Hart served as Justice of the Peace every four years after the family's move to Pickford from Raber (1920, 1924, 1928, 1932, 1936, and 1940; he died Oct 1940).
From January-November, 1930, William and son Roy C. Hart helped other community members build the St. Matthias Episcopal Church across the road from the Fairview Cemetery (where both are buried). The log-cabin-style church is operational and still stands today.
After William's death in 1940, Lillian married Oct. 1949 to George Anderson; they lived in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. She died at the home of her daughter Anne (Mrs. John Foster) of Eckerman, Mich in 1958, about a year after George's death.
