Born May 14, 1922, in the Corinth Community, Shelby County, TX, Lenard Milford was the son of the late Francis Marion and Sarah Elizabeth (Moore) Milford. He was a graduate of Timpson High School, served in the U. S. Air Force, and retired as a rural mail carrier with the U. S. Postal Service. Lenard and Tommie Jessie Conway were married December 13, 1955, in Neuville Baptist Church.
Lenard Milford also attended Texas Baptist Institute in Henderson, TX, and began serving as pastor of churches in the East Texas area for a total of 58 years. Churches he pastored included Spanns Chapel MBC, Lone Cedar MBC, New Prospect MBC, Lydia MBC, and Oakland MBC. Bro. Lenard Milford was also a member of Timpson Masonic Lodge #437.
Survivors include wife Tommie Jessie Milford of Timpson; sons David Milford and wife Susan of Waskom, TX, and Jeff Milford of Fayetteville, AR; 4 grandchildren: Sarah Bowen and husband Daniel, Leslie Milford, Ben Milford and wife Megan, and Shannon Milford; great grandson Isaac Jeffery Bowen; brothers and sisters-in-law Jerry and Vivian, Luther and Sharon, Vernon and Gloria, James and Robin, Charles and Cathy Conway; nephews: Thomas Milford, Waymon Dean Alford, Charlie Hensley, Ronnie Hensley, and Danny Sledge; nieces Patricia Gibbs, Virginia Wilke, Drucilla Aaron, and Linda Stewart.
In addition to his parents, Lenard Milford was preceded in death by 5 sisters: Maurine McGraw, Viola Murphy, Mildred Sledge, Lois Ritter, and Jewel Hensley; 4 half-brothers; and 4 half-sisters.
