Louise passed away on January 19, 2012 in Homedale, Idaho, surrounded by her loving family.

Louise was born on April 24, 1920 in St. George, Utah to George and Nancy Holt Bowler. She lived for many years in Las Vegas, Nevada and worked for the Stardust and Desert Inn Hotels and retired from the Culinary Union in 1974.

Louise married Legrand Leavitt in 1975 and has since lived in Homedale on the family farm until the time of her death. Louise had many hobbies and interests, most of which included taking care of her family. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting and she made blankets for every one of her children and made a baby blanket for every newborn child in the family.

Louise loved all of the members of her family and their birthdays were forever sealed in her mind and she never forgot them. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Homedale.

Louise is survived by her husband, Legrand, of Homedale; children: Philip (Donna) Hicks, of Ivins, UT, Paul O. (Diane) Hicks, of Sparks, NV, Martha (Wallace) Bergeson, of Moses Lake, WA, Theodore (Marilee) Leavitt, of Cle Elum, WA, Tim (Rose) Leavitt, of Homedale, ID, Alona Leavitt, of Selah, WA, Brian (Penny) Leavitt, of Boise, ID, and Kelly (Sheila) Leavitt, of Homedale, ID; her sister, Georgene Buck, of Las Vegas, NV; 30 Grandchildren; 97 Great-grandchildren; and 39 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Nancy Holt Bowler; former husband, J.C. Hicks; sisters: Bessie Hortt, Lena Hughes, Rachel Leavitt, Mattie Leavitt and Margorie Laub; brothers: Austin Bowler, James Bowler, George Bowler, Clark Bowler, Grant Bowler and Harold Bowler; and one son, Michael Leavitt.

There will be a viewing at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale on Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. The funeral will be held on January 23, 2012 at 1:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Homedale, Idaho.

Burial will follow the services at Marsing-Homedale Cemetery, Marsing, Idaho.
