Carl was a member of the United States Army Air Corps and then the Air Force and served in World War II and the Korean War.
He worked for Pacific Telephone for 38 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Elk's club, Toastmasters International and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Lownes is survived by his wife of 40 years, Geraldine May Lownes, daughter, Diane (Lownes) Rowe, son, Neil Lownes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Lownes and Martha Rose (Kwasigroch) Lownes, first wife of 23 years, Esther Lownes.
