Buried on former Wike Ivey property, with parents, Wike(Wilkes) and Sarah Ivey, off Carter's Creek Road east of Carnegie.

Sgt. Benjamin Ivey enlisted in the Confederate Army at Sandersonville on 16 Feb 1863 in the 2nd Regiment, Co. H (Capt. T.L. Hundley's Company), Georgia State Line and was given a medical discharge on 2 Sep 1863.

Benjamin married Francis Malissa Wall on 23 Feb 1854 in Randolph Co., GA and prior to the War, owned and operated the Ivey-Shivers Mill near Carnegie. After his death in 1866, Francis remarried to Eli Shivers, who took over running the mill.

Benjamin's siblings were Charity Ivey, Mary Ivey, Martha Ivey, Seaborn Ivey (married 1st Sarah Brown, 2nd Penelope Nichols),James M. Ivey (married Louisa Ragan), Solomon Newsom Ivey (married Katherine A.E. McDonald)

Benjamin and Francis had five children, Wike Ivey (married Epsie Catherine Strickland), Georgia Ann Ivey (married 1st James Colemand, 2nd William H. Wingate),Solomon R. Ivey(never married), "Toby" Benjamin Franklin Ivey (married 1st Annie Lauria Davis, 2nd Annie Lee Conrad) and James Henry Ivey (married Eunice Brown)
